From Zero to DevRel: How to Build Developer Relations for Startups and Enterprises

As a technical organization, you may have different needs on why you want to establish a Developer Relations function in your organization. A lot of them assume, DevRel is only for organizations who want developers to know and engage with their products, however, DevRel as a function is also applicable for service based organizations, for example, an internal DevRel team in a service organization can help facilitate shared learnings, enable community based trainings and networking amongst its engineers.
My recommendation to organizations trying to establish DevRel, specifically startups, is only when you have reached the stage of Operational Breakthrough, to ensure your overall success of not just DevRel as a unit but also consumption of overall business capital.
